In a written reply in the Lok Sabha on Monday Verma said, NMDC and Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited (RINL) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Friday for setting up projects for pipeline transport of iron ore concentrate from Jagadalpur, Chhattisgarh to Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh and setting up filtration plant and pellet plant at Visakhapatnam.
NEW DELHI(Commodity Online): India's National Mineral Development Corporation (NMDC) has plans to increase production of iron ore from the present level of around 27 Million Tonnes Per Annum (MTPA) to 40 MTPA by the year 2014-15, Minister of Steel, Beni Prasad Verma has said in the Parliament Monday.
NMDC has taken steps to increase production of iron ore to 32.5 MTPA from its mines at Kirandul and Bacheli Complex in Bailadila, Chhattisgarh and 7.5 MTPA from Donimalai and Kumarswamy mines in Donimalai Sector, Karnataka.
NMDC has also formed a Joint Venture company with the Chhattisgarh Mineral Development Corporation (CMDC) to develop Deposit 13 & Deposit 4 Mine in Bailadila Sector with capacity of 10 MTPA and 7 MTPA iron ore respectively.

The scrip of NMDC(BSE:NMDCLTD:526371) settled at 186.80 on the BSE on Monday. On Tuesday morning the scrip is green at 186.85, a gain of 0.03%.
